When you are setting up a “year on” your awareness is heightened to many things, including what access to learning opportunities your kids receive on a daily basis. I found myself thinking about how lucky we as Canadians are to have access to such things as a robust library system. Yesterday we signed up for our family account and had a tour of the library kids section, including how to search for books. The apps, e books, audio books etc allow for Finley and Grace to sign out reading materials anywhere in the world, sometimes we forget how lucky we are…
After the library we found ourselves at a random street fair where Grace and Finley were climbing, throwing axes and having a go at archery. Learning doesn’t have to be flashy, take the opportunity from everyday experiences that can easily be set up by these simple words. “You can do it yourself, give it a try” And then your 8 year old brings you this while you are working in the garage…Yesterday we also started to set up their Google spaces, Gmail and Drive. Post on it’s way about organizing their learning in digital spaces.
Looking forward to reading more. Loved your eight year old’s salad! See if they also enjoy the cook books in the library
